Experience

Since April 2025, I have been supporting a young man who is registered blind. In this role, I accompany him to a variety of activities, community groups, and social engagements, providing practical assistance while promoting independence and building confidence.

I am committed to enabling choice and encouraging active participation, ensuring my client feels socially included.  It is important to me that the activities and groups we attend reflect his personal interests and preferences.  I prioritise safety, clear communication and adapt my support in response to feedback, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience.

In addition, since July 2025 I have been providing ad-hoc support to a gentleman with a learning disability.  This role involves offering flexible assistance while maintaining consistency with his established routines.  I accompany him grocery shopping and provide transport to attend his swimming club.  I focus on creating a supportive, positive & respectful environment. â€‹

I also have previous experience working in both care home and home care settings while studying for my HNC in Social Care at North East Scotland College.
